Charu, I think these all have been passed on from generations...it seems I have read all these before....almost 4 years back when I started working...

Great reading, still dont seem to get over these Monday...Mundane blues...;)

All I know is each morning I get up and see the beautiful mist and I say WOW...Shahrukh Khan eating unlimited golgappas to get to his Love, well that makes me say WOW...A blind man takes two hours to cross the road in front of me...and finally after 2 hours without anyone's help he does it...that is WOW for me...

But Monday...I think "Sarthak's" morning show on Hit 95 FM, Hit Morning's definitely brings a smile:)...

I still havent' addressed the topic...have I? See...its Tuesday hues probably:)

Cheers,
Paritosh

Well, Charu though a nice start, but I think there is still lots that can be added to your thought process. Branding is a highly interactive and interesting process.

I am in high support to your idea of personal branding. Its where the times are moving to. Social Media helps you do it effectively. I think you should explore more on how corporate are branding their specific offerings and probably if you lay your hands on a case study, would be great if you could share one. Also probably some information on how businesses (may be in a particular sector) are re-branding themselves in the current market conditions. How are products and offerings being positioned.

I think its a great piece for discussion and am interested in connecting with anyone who does it!

interative platform probably is the best and the most effective form of media / communication one can ever find. Remember the neighbor Aunt who would come to your house and manage to sell you the ever so annoying Amway / oriflame / Tupperware dealership! irrespective of the fact that you abhorred the complete idea in the first place. Thats the power interactivity brings to the table. Welcome to the jungle! every lion is on a prawl. What better way is there for someone to slowly and seamlessly slip in his product to your dresser-shelf via the little 'how i lost my wrinkles' story xyz-gang-of-abc-girls websites. Interactivity is the next step to advertising evolution. biggest example of the same is the power internet has shown in the last couple of U.S. presidential elections. the wave is here, and we are all riding it.. here as now.. as i make this post (at 2 am in the morn :))

This is awesome stuff. Its good to be reporting at such a fast pace. Though coming from a more conservative view point I would feel that the control mechanism is flawless to ensure that everything that gets reported is monitored.

Interesting read Pankaj..

Quite sometime back in of the lectures I was delivering on Open Source, the topic that I covered was 'hoe to make money out of open source' and well, the case study is a great eye opener. I think as we are moving towards more OPEN SOCIAL modes, the need for innovative business models with associated innovative revenue streams is an absolute essential.

Today Social Networks like Facebook are joining in the Open Source club...you need let the tiger taste blood first, ENGAGE and then Let Social Media work for you! I see Vriti to be going towards the domain and am sure leveraging the Social Media aspect would be great for you guys, as your basic "End Consumers" are THERE...present in the OPEN...and theya re looking for you!

So exploring this part of the market would be of help I think...hmmm....we have something to discuss now i think?? :)

Best,
ParitoshS

Charu, great post!!

Absolutely, It has been marked by every News channel and reports that Social Media was much faster in the recent Mumbai terrorist attacks that I got to know there were bloggers who were interviewed by various media channels. Times group posted that they have over 9 million page views during the course of events.

Accounts of people on Slideshare, Flickr, communities on orkut have essentially gotten viewed several times more than what could have been possible in normal circumstances. I think you have captured the essence and power of Social media right:)

Also I did follow you PR 2.0 ppt on slideshare, your work seems good into branding and PR..looking forward to exchange more notes.

Hey Charu,

Great post, thoroughly enjoyed reading it! PR 2.0 is definitely required for emerging SME's and other emerging businesses. The fact is more established by the market conditions which we are witnessing.

Looking towards getting more from you on this subject!!

Best,

Interesting read Charu,

I think you should definitely go a bit deeper into the various options available in the Social Media platform, and how can it actually be used at the "implementable level" or call it execution level in the actual business environment.

I think businesses today need such a common! Keep up the good work!

Intersting read Charu!
I agree to your idea of the FREE customers! Especially the kind of industries that you have listed would be heavily affected by both the economic slowdown and the idea of the FREE customer that you have posted.

A simple example being, in a retail shop your "window shopping" customers greatly affect the people perceptions outside the shop, thus when you have more footfalls, the customers who are not there to buy do affect your business, as people who can buy, probably come seeing the high volume, and hence feel that you have great quality on offer.
Keep up the great work!

Absolutely Nikhil, I agree to you, though I would maintain that the education industry needs high level of Flawless execution in their projects, otherwise we are creating "Bigger Disconnects" for the future, with the highly disregulated industry structure.
